Lyle grew up in the Cleveland area and likes the fact that his family lives close by. He shares his home with his adorable beagle, Sally. When he’s not on the job at TCO Lyle spends his time learning about cars and cigars, and indulging in a passion for photography when he gets the chance. When asked about any embarrassing onstage moments, Lyle had this to say: “Way too many to remember! I do remember how anxious I was when I started the Cleveland job. I wanted to make a good first impression with the music director and my colleagues. During my first concert with the music director on the podium I forgot to notice that my chair was not directly behind me before I sat down. As I sat down I hit the front of the chair, tipping the chair over and falling directly to the ground on my back! I had to get onto my hands and knees in order to get up and I remember thinking at that moment, ‘I’m on my hands and knees, in a concert, in y suit, with the music director on the podium.’ My embarrassment outweighed any discomfort I was feeling physically!” When Lyle is not playing his trumpet he likes listening to movie soundtracks and Star Trek music, lots of 80’s music and lots of jazz. His favorite restaurant is Nam Wah in Berea because of their incredible rice noodle bowls.
