Meet the Musicians Violin
Jeanne Preucil Rose
Orchestra member since 1999
Hometown: Iowa City, Iowa
Education: The Cleveland Institute of Music, Eastman School of Music
Studied with: David Cerone, David Updegraff, William Preucil
Instrument: Jeanne’s plays on a 1764 Tomaso Balestrieri that originally belonged to her mother. What a nice gift!
Jeanne loves living in Cleveland because it has everything a larger city has, but remains easily to navigate--she enjoys driving to work through beautiful neighborhoods instead of a highway. She values the public school systems for their diversity and the great education her children are receiving there. She and her husband, TCO violinist Steve Rose, have two children and a beloved family dog, a schnoodle. Being fans of Cleveland eats, Jeanne and her family eat at SASA in Shaker Square at least once a week and bring food from Fire home regularly. When Jeanne isn’t playing the violin, you might find her tending to her garden, watching baseball or shopping. She loves listening to Hits 1 on Sirius Radio and lets her kids choose the station. Jeanne remarks, “I love that I am in such an amazing orchestra and can represent this city in such a positive way.”
